Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility
SUPPORTING DEAF AND HARD OF HEARING BRITISH COLUMBIANS
Brief
With the launch of their modern new facility in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood in October 2019, Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility (formerly known as the Western Institute for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing) needed a multi-phase marketing plan to guide their brand relaunch, support their capital campaign, and inaugurate their new building.
Established in 1956, the Wavefront Centre for Communication Accessibility is a B.C. based, multi-service, registered charity that exists to reduce hearing-related communication barriers by providing access and inclusion for the Deaf and Hard of Hearing.
The only centre of its kind in Western Canada, Wavefront Centre provides a full range of programs and services “under one roof”.
Deliverables
To ensure the success of the Wavefront Centre’s brand relaunch and fund development campaign at a crucial moment in the organization’s history, this project was focused on supporting the Wavefront Centre’s in-house marketing team on strategic communications, storytelling, and group facilitation.
The brand development for this project was led by the skilful team at Harc Creative, and storytelling was supported by Alison Boulier Photography and Orange Pulp Projects.

Results
This collaboration culminated in the successful launch of the Wavefront Centre’s new brand and supported their fund development team in the important months leading up to the launch of their new facility in Vancouver’s Mount Pleasant neighbourhood.
This work ensures that the Wavefront Centre can continue to deliver on its mission to serve Deaf and Hard of Hearing individuals, their families and the community by delivering innovative programs, products and solutions to achieve full communication accessibility.
